Row New York
Through the discipline of rowing, Row New York transforms the lives 270 middle and high school students from under-resourced communities through high-quality athletic, academic, social-emotional learning, and college-and career-readiness programs that empower student athletes to realize their full potential. MFF funding supports the Social Work program, which offers one-on-one counseling and case management, referrals to community resources, and targeted mental health workshops while also building the capacity of direct service staff to be more effective and responsive youth development professionals.
“Growing up the idea of going to college was more of a goal. My parents always encouraged me to study and keep learning — which I held close to my mind and heart. Joining Row New York, the push to go to college was also there. The help with SAT prep, college applications workshops, and not to mention the college trips themselves, all helped me reach my goal to be in the position that I am today... I wouldn’t say Row New York has shaped me — as I believe that I have shaped myself into becoming who I am. With that being said, I cannot deny that Row New York has helped me pave the way to where I am today.”
