Reel Works provides free filmmaking programs for NYC youth. Using a one-on-one mentoring model, the organization challenges teens to tell their stories, which builds skills in literacy, leadership, and self-confidence.
The Meringoff Foundation has invested in the design of MediaMKRS Digital Badges, an innovative credentialing system for teaching and learning filmmaking. MediaMKRS brings together educators and employers to identify demonstrable workforce readiness standards for students, with the goal to provide young diverse filmmakers greater entrée to NYC’s media industry.
“Reel Works gave me a vision. It instilled in me the idea that I am capable of doing great things and made it very clear that the film/television industry is where I belong.”
