Adaptive Sports Foundation
Catskill Mountains-based Adaptive Sports Foundation (ASF) provides outdoor physical activities and wellness education for children and adults with physical and intellectual disabilities or chronic illnesses. In winter, ASF offers skiing, snowboarding, Nordic cross country/biathlon, and para-bobsled/skeleton programs. Summer options include paddling, stand up paddle boarding, para-rowing, road cycling and mountain biking, golf, hiking, and fitness training.
MFF's challenge grant will support the repaving of the dangerously rutted roadway leading to the Adaptive Sports Center.
“Thank you for an awesome season. From my first visit to Windham, I was impressed by the level of inclusion, instruction, and FUN I saw with ASF students and instructors. What an amazing group to be part of. As a Special Education teacher, I often find myself bogged down with data and plan analysis and I feel like weekends with ASF are a reminder of what learning should be about. Thank you again! I’m already looking forward to next season.”
